About Wind MENA
The region's own reference for wind: independent, sourced, and written from inside the Middle East and North Africa.

Most of what is written about wind in the Middle East and North Africa comes from outside the region. Wind MENA is built to be the reference from inside.
Our vision
The Middle East and North Africa are building wind at scale: tender rounds, gigawatt-scale awards, new grid links, and the region's own developers taking projects from Central Asia to the North Sea. Most of what is written about it comes from outside the region.
Wind MENA is built to be the reference from inside. We want an investor, a developer or a lender to come here first to learn what happened, what it cost, who carries the risk and what comes next, and to trust what they read enough to cite it.
Wind MENA is the product of more than a decade inside the wind industry, from project delivery to grid compliance. We read an announcement the way the people who build these projects do. The grid connection, the financing close and the contract terms decide whether a project on paper becomes one that turns.
What we cover
Wind power across the Middle East, North Africa and Türkiye: the projects, the tenders, the money and the grid connections that decide whether turbines turn.
Our core markets are Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Morocco, Oman, Tunisia, Jordan, the UAE and Türkiye. We also follow Algeria, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya and Syria, and MENA developers and capital at work abroad.
How we source
We work from developer and ministry announcements, regulator filings, development bank disclosures and established energy reporting. Every piece links its sources.
When a figure comes from a single outlet, we say so.
Facts and opinions
Briefs report what happened. Analysis adds our reading, and we label it as ours.
If we get something wrong, we correct it on the page and note the change.
Photographs
Photographs on this site are openly licensed library images of wind farms from Wikimedia Commons and Unsplash. Each report has its own. They set the scene; unless a caption names the report's own market, they do not show the project it covers. Photographers and licences are listed on the photo credits page.
